Why Kathleen?
I provide a comfortable space to explore your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and work through challenges. I specialize in issues related to disordered eating, self esteem, body image, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I use a variety of therapeutic techniques depending on your individual needs. Counselling involves looking inward at your thoughts and emotions, shifting patterns in your life that are no longer serving you, and learning new skills and coping strategies.
I believe in an integrated perspective, meaning that the body and mind are connected. Stress and trauma are often held in the body. I offer holistic healing practices in addition to clinical counselling, such as guided breathwork and reiki (both are somatic ‘embodied’ practices). This can be a great adjunct to counselling, as it helps to reconnect with the body and move safely through intense emotions. It takes a great deal of courage to start your counselling journey, and I know that once you take that step, it is possible to heal.
-
Find inner balance and peace of mind
-
Greater control over thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
-
Learn new skills and coping strategies

-
Greater self-love and self-acceptance
-
